Integrated management
system

QGMI and its projects adopt QGMI’s group-wide Integrated Management System, which is externally certified for health and safety (ISO 45001), environment (ISO 14001) and quality (ISO 9001) (HSEQ) management.

QGMI’s Integrated Management System (IMS) policy sets out our commitment to managing our activities in a manner that minimizes risk to people and environment as much as practicable.

The QGMI Integrated Management System (IMS), its plan, procedures and tools are rolled out and implemented in all projects operated by QGMI. The IMS is audited on an annual basis at corporate and project level.

Each Project has a tailored IMS plan, which details how it will manage Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and Social Responsibility (HSEQ-SR) in line with the Plan-Do-Check-Act management cycle.

Corporate and project-level procedures are developed, reviewed, and updated periodically to ensure they are fit for purpose, address any potential changes in operating conditions, and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and lessons learnt.

In doing so, we ensure that we adequately assess, manage and monitor non-technical risks in a manner that is proportional to both the scale and type of project activities.

QGMI is committed to human rights and the dignity of all people.

For this reason, we make our Human Rights Policy available to our employees,
partners and third parties.

Integrated Waste Management

At QGMI, we plan to adopt an integrated waste management approach, by assessing the various waste streams and adopting an approach of waste management. Our organic wastes are segregated, and a designed composter treats them. The result of the organic waste management can be applied to our reforestation projects.

Accugrade GPS Control System

We use a GPS technology to increase our productivity in earthmoving and grading processes. This Control System allows operators to grade more precisely and faster, which translates into higher productivity, lower operating costs, and a well-done work.

SAE (Electronic Monitoring System)

The Electronic Monitorig System was developed internally by the IT team, with the aim of monitoring the development of activities and working hours of workers and teams in real time, reducing access time to performance indicators for strategic decision making. The system, which is available in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, works via smartphone by reading QR Codes affixed to equipment and on workers’ credentials. It works even where there is no internet available, as data can be stored in the phone’s memory and transferred when there is a Wi-Fi or 4G network signal. It improves cost management, productivity control and contributes to environmental sustainability.
