SOCIAL COMMITMENT
Our social commitment stems from the conviction that sustainable development is only possible when people are placed at the heart of every decision. For this reason, our initiatives promote an inclusive and safe working environment, while generating a positive impact in the communities where we operate.
Collaborators
- Prioritising our employees means recognising diversity, fostering their growth, and ensuring a fair and safe workplace.
- Inclusion and Diversity: We promote respect for differences, gender equality, and the recruitment of minorities or vulnerable groups, supported by ongoing training for all team members.
- Internal Programmes: We develop initiatives aimed at improving physical and mental well-being.
- Collaborative Environment: We encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences, driving creativity and innovation. This contributes to the sustainable growth of both the company and every individual within QGMI.
Communities and Local Development
While our infrastructure projects benefit the societies in which they are located, the construction phase may involve certain social impacts, which we seek to manage from the design stage. We respect and contribute positively to local communities by establishing communication and feedback channels with all stakeholders. We also work to prevent impacts on health and safety, promote development, and train local labour.
- Projects for the Social Environment: We support educational and infrastructure initiatives, often in collaboration with local organisations, to improve the quality of life in communities.
- Volunteering and Participation: We encourage active involvement of our employees in community projects, facilitating volunteer programmes and providing logistical support to maximise the reach of social actions.
- Impact Assessment and Social Managementl: As part of its services, QGMI prepares Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), coordinates—on behalf of its clients—the evaluation of impacts, stakeholder engagement, and the planning of resettlement or livelihood restoration, always in compliance with national regulations and the requirements of credit institutions (such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards).
We also prioritise local labour for roles that can be filled within the community, promoting the socio-economic development of the region. This holistic approach ensures compliance with the highest social and environmental standards, generating shared value for all stakeholders involved.
